Every November during Thanksgiving break, Watkinson takes about 25 students to La Romina, Dominican Republic.  I went for the first time this past year and that one week completely changed my perspective on life.  I spent my time there working on bateys, which were small villages on sugar cane fields, helping build new houses, in the med clinic giving out shoes to the patients, and at local schools working in and outside of the classroom.
